EXPERT
Integration of Neurodynamics into Neurorehabilitation (INN®) Expert 1: Fundamentals, Development, and Application
The INN® conceptual model opens up new perspectives for you!
Would you like to learn more about movement and action analysis with a focus on neural mobility? In the INN® expert courses, you'll learn the theoretical fundamentals through practical examples.
Course Content
You’ll learn how the INN® has evolved so that you can explain the conceptual model to your patients. Through this in-depth knowledge of the peripheral nerves and their biomechanical and physiological functions, you’ll come to view the entire nervous system as an inseparable unit and will no longer make a functional distinction between the central and peripheral nervous systems. You will now understand why people move and behave in a certain way after a brain injury.
This is Part 1 of the INN® Basic Digital Course. It consists of four courses:
Expert 1: INN® Fundamentals, Development & Application (4 hours)
Expert 2: INN® Neurodynamic Tests
Expert 3: INN® Additional Aspects
Expert 4: INN® Clinical Reasoning Process
Upon completion of all four courses, you will receive the certificate for the INN® Basic Course: Integration of Neurodynamics into Neurorehabilitation. This certificate qualifies you to participate in INN® hands-on courses.
Note
We recommend the "What You Should Know About the Central Nervous System" basic course as the best way to prepare.
Here are a few reasons why:
…because the central nervous system is responsible for controlling movement and action.
…because the cranial nerves are located in the central nervous system, even though they are part of the peripheral nervous system.
…because you’ll learn about the most important clinical presentations resulting from a brain lesion.
…because the case studies presented there will help you connect the concepts you’ve learned and store them in your long-term memory.

Meet the Teachers

Nora Kern, MSc PT, OMPT
For more than 20 years, my goal has been to integrate existing knowledge and the established tests and techniques of neurodynamics into neurorehabilitation. Peripheral nerves are structures that, along with muscles, joints, and scars, should be assessed and treated as needed, with different areas of focus depending on the professional group: They, too, are part of the nervous system! Peripheral nerve dysfunction can severely impair rehabilitation. In this course, we aim to refresh and expand your theoretical understanding, because, as we know, knowledge guides our actions.

Dr. Petra Marsico, PT
As a physical therapist and researcher, I am fascinated by the complexity of the nervous system. I am particularly intrigued by the influence of these structures on mobility and behavior, and especially by the neurodynamic aspect. The more I learn about this, the better I can support my young patients and their families in strengthening their abilities and achieving greater independence.
